Why we have and why we will keep travelling with our baby!

Why we have and why we will keep travelling with our baby!

When we had our baby people frequently told us that all our travelling would come to an end! We hoped in that foolhardy way of impending parents that this wouldn’t be the case for us. Now we’ve had to eat our words on many things but thankfully we haven’t in regards to travelling. Baby E is now eight months old and has been to seven countries, on nine long haul flights, on a Mediterranean cruise and on nine city breaks. And 2017 is going to bring even more travel – so why do we travel with a baby?

Well why not?

Babies are super portable so why not take advantage of this! We hiked up Montjuic in Barcelona with Baby E in the carrier.

Whether you are a baby carrier or a stroller person – travel can still be done!

It gives us great time together to bond away from everyday distractions.

It will – we hope – give our baby a curious and accepting spirit!

It forces you to travel at a slower pace. Nothing will make you embrace slow travel like a baby. Instead of rushing around you will get to travel deep, spend quality time together and enjoy the little things you may have missed before! I can’t wait for baby E to get a bit older and start seeing the world through her eyes!

You meet more people! Nothing makes you more approachable than a baby! Whether it’s a Japanese tourist wanting to take a picture of your baby in their adorable snow suit to meeting locals at local eateries. It’s a great way to get insights into local life and getting great tips on places to go!

And don’t forget travelling with babies is cheaper than with older kids. You can opt if you wish to have your little one travel on your lap rather than having their own seat and hotels will often let babies sleep in your room at no extra cost.

In 2017 we have lots of great adventures coming up with Baby E – Singapore in the spring, Norway in the summer and Japan and South Korea in the Autumn. And then onto our round the world trip in 2018!

We can’t wait for more adventures!

completely agree with you! I've had people say to me what's the point on going on so many days out, Eric [our son] won't remember it. I think that's rude and insensitive! it doesn't matter if he remembers it or not (and he will, anyway) it's our experience as a family as well as his :) #familytraveltips
