Lots of the 5* hotels in Qatar have amazing stretches of beaches that have private beach access for those staying in the hotel or with day passes. Qatar is great for having both beach hotels in Doha and some outside of the city. Here is a breakdown of those closest to town and those a little further away.

Where to Find Qatar Beach Resorts

Doha is a relatively compact city so you will find that the Qatar Beach Resorts are cluster together. If you are looking for where to stay in Doha with a beach then you should be looking at the following areas:

Doha West Bay Corniche hotels only – West Bay is the large central business are of Doha. Not all hotels in this area have beaches so you need to make sure you are looking at one of the hotels on the corniche front.
West Bay Lagoon – This is a short taxi ride from the city centre but is still a very convenient location. These beaches tend to be bigger than those in West Bay and may have more family friendly amenities.
Outside of the city – there are a couple of resorts outside of the city including a private island.

Grand Hyatt Doha

The Grand Hyatt Doha perhaps has one of the best hotel beaches in Qatar. Situated in the West Bay Lagoon are of the city it has a long stretch of white sandy beaches and lots of inflatables in the sea which makes it one of the best and most family friendly beaches in Qatar.

Four seasons Doha -the best beach resort Doha has on offer

If any hotel exudes luxury it is the Four Seasons Doha and is often called the best beach hotel Doha has on offer! With a beautiful stretch of beach and amazing pools the Four Seasons is a must experience. The hotel also boasts some of Doha’s finest restaurants including Nobu and an afternoon tea to die for! But perhaps my favorite thing about the Four Seasons Doha is the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they take care of your every need before you know you need it yourself. From drinks to sun glass cleaning the staff at the four seasons will be on hand for your every beckon call. In my opinion it is perhaps the perfect place to relax in Doha.

Sheraton Doha

The Sheraton is perhaps the most iconic hotel in Doha as it is actually the oldest of the hotels in the city and as such has a fond place in the heart of many locals. It has a fabulous beach and pool access and is known for its ladies day!

Intercontinental Doha beach resort – the best beach hotel in doha for families

I love the Intercontinental Doha Beach Resort as I think it is perhaps the best beach hotel in doha for families. It has a great child friendly pool and play area as well as a long stretch of beach with umbrellas and plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained. There are also great pool and beach adjacent dining options with our family favorite being the Greek restaurant Mykonos.

The Sharq

If I want a day of pampering then the Sharq is my go to place. I love the fact that there is an Arabian feel to this hotel which adds a local flair rather than feeling like you could be in a beach resort anywhere. The Sharq has a fabulous spa and some great Arabian eateries. So if you want a beach resort with more of a local feel then this is the place to go!

Hilton Doha

A hotel on the Corniche closely located to business district of West Bay.

Best Resorts In Qatar Outside of Doha

If you want to away from the city, then there are some great beach hotels outside of Doha city! From desert adjacent resorts to private islands, there is an amazing beach hotel outside of Doha for you!

Simaisma Beach Resort

This hotel is not in Doha but is located a short drive north of the capital and about 20 minutes drive from Lusail. This resort offers beach front luxury and also boasts one of the longest pools in the whole of Qatar. Day passes are available.

As a note, this resort has an Arabian feel and caters well to the local audience and as such is an alcohol free resort.

Private islands in Qatar

Banana island beach

If you want an tropical island feel in Doha then there really is only one place to go. Banana Island by Anantara is the only private island beach resort in Doha. Located a short 25 minutes away from Doha by luxury ferry, Banana Island by Anantara is perhaps one of the most exclusive resorts to stay in in all of Doha. This is perhaps the most instagrammable of all the resorts in Doha especially with its beautiful sea swing!
