5 best foodie experiences of 2017

We are very lucky that we get to travel the world as a family and have some really great foodie experiences along the way. 2017 has been no different. We have been eating our way across four continents and almost had too many great meals to choose from. It has been difficult but we have narrowed down our best meals of 2017!Best Breakfast 0f 2017 – Conrad Tokyo

The Conrad chain of hotels is fast becoming one of my favorites and one of the main reasons for this is because of their fantastic breakfasts. With a mixture of buffet and live cooking stations and a la carte options. The Conrad Tokyo has something for even the fussiest morning eater

Brunch – la veranda, Doha

If there is one thing that the Middle East does well it is brunch! No visit to the Middle East is complete without experiencing Friday brunch. While I love the selection and range at some of the bigger brunches, I love the brunch at La Veranda. The combination of delicious Italian food, good wine and a view to die for, La Veranda is my favorite brunch spot in Doha.

Lunch – Marram Grass

Marram Grass Cafe

My mum somewhat fell in love with Chef Ellis Barrie when he appeared on The Great British Menu so when we went on a family trip to Anglesey I knew we had to have lunch at the Marram Grass Cafe. Being on a caravan park it is not like any other fine dining restaurant you will have ever been to but it will not disappoint.

Dinner – teppanyaki 10

I love traditional dining but I also love contemporary twists. This is exactly what we got when we visited Teppanyaki 10 in Tokyo. A traditional teppanyaki restaurant but we modern twists such as dry ice cream and unusual takes on the teppanyaki classics.

Dessert – om nom, Melbourne

A restaurant that is primarily know for desserts is one I knew I had to try. While all the desserts at Om Nom looked and tasted delicious their signature chocolate cigars were the star of the show. Brought out in a cigar case that smoked when open, there was a real air of theatre about the dessert that made it even more special.
