I an not an outdoorsy person. I love wildlife but I don’t want to have to rough it to have amazing experiences. One of the things I loved about Uganda is that I could go and experience great wildlife, from gorilla trekking to chimp trekking to Uganda safaris, all the while knowing I was returning to 5* service by using one of the many fabulous luxury lodges in Uganda. But if you are looking for the best luxury lodge in Uganda then here are my top three picks of the best luxury lodges in Uganda
Best Luxury Lodges in Uganda
Kyambura Gorge Lodge
Kyambura Gorge offers a wealth of wildlife experiences that will sure you keep you busy. But after busy days trekking, sailing and driving safaris you will want some time to relax and unwind. Kyambura Gorge is the perfect place to do this.
Every room is its own private lodge with its own view of Kyambura Gorge. We loved sitting on our balcony watching the wildlife from our luxury outdoor furniture.
The bedrooms are so comfortable and have everything you could need.

But perhaps it is the extra amenities that make Kyambura Gorge. From the outdoor pool with an amazing view, the free daily massage (Which is welcome relief for aching muscles) and great food served on a terrace.
For those who haven’t had enough exercise you can be guided by some of the fantastic staff to take a wildlife walk of the grounds!
Bwindi Lodge
There is only really one reason go to Bwindi, and that is to see the mountain gorillas. Our hike to see them was several hours of hard trekking being given the group furthest away so coming back to a relaxing environment was a must. Being another Volcanoes property, your alcohol, food and daily free massage was included in the cost and something I definitely indulged in.
The bedroom are beautifully appointed with lovely views of the grounds. If you are lucky you may see gorillas from your lodge!
Ndali Lodge
This was Wandermust Daddy’s favourite lodge in Uganda. It had such a quaint, homely and almost colonial feel. The lodge is owned by Aubrey who has regained the land after it was ceased during the reign of Amin. The lodge is close to the Rwenzori Mountains and the Kibale National Forest offering a wealth of activities. One of our favourites was to take the lodge dogs for a walk down by the crater lake.
The lodges themselves are individual and have a sitting area where your tea and coffee will be served in the morning. Having no electricity at the lodges, the water is heated by fire which means you get a lovely smoky scented shower and the whole lodge has a very romantic atmosphere.
There are so many places with great views at Ndali, from breakfast overlooking the crater lake to the infinity pool out onto the Rwenzori Mountains. There is no bad view at this lodge.
My favourite experience at Ndali Lodge was eating breakfast watching the sunrise over the beautiful crater lake.
But the thing that really made Ndali Lodge was the staff. All very helpful and eager to help but friendly and personable that provided a unique, warm and familial atmosphere!
