Two things that I love in life are travel and Christmas and therefore it should come as no surprise that I have a travel themed Christmas tree. In this post I am going to show you how I put together my travel themed Christmas tree and what you can do to have more travel baubles and travel themed Christmas ornaments on your tree too!

How to have a Travel Themed Christmas Tree
Now before we go into the best travel Christmas ornaments we have found on the market, we want to show our travel themed Christmas tree and give you some tips on how to have a travel themed Christmas tree yourself!
Be Eclectic
Now if you want a pristine Christmas tree with everything matching and coordinated then having a travel themed tree may not be for you.
Personally I feel that whenever you pick a travel themed Christmas ornament it is nice to put some of the local culture or icons on display.
For instance on our tree we have:
- a London bus
- an Amsterdam windmill (my favorite souvenir from Amsterdam).
- A Mickey Mouse Ornament from Disneyland
- a camel from Dubai.
Now these might not look like they go together they do make me smile every time I look at them.
Use Memories
And it doesn’t have to be a Christmas ornament you bought. ON our first trip with our baby, when we took a Winter City break to Stockholm my little one worn Santa mittens which now have pride of place on the tree.
The Best Travel Christmas Ornaments
So know you have some tips on how we have put together our travel themed tree, here are some of our favorite travel Christmas ornaments we have found.
Globe Baubles
These beautifully crafted globe baubles catch the light and are the perfect adornment to any traveller’s Christmas tree! I really like the gold leaf and think it adds a beautiful festive touch!
However there are other baubles available with quotes and slogans on such as “Adventure Awaits”
Travel Quote Baubles
I love an inspirational travel quote and think this brightly colored baubles with quotes made a stylish addition to any Christmas tree!
My favorite quotes are Wanderlust and Adventure Awaits but there are many other choices on the LoveBumble shop!
City Themed Travel Christmas Ornaments
We have started collecting Christmas Ornaments when we travel but let’s be honest sometimes it is impossible to find the perfect souvenir especially a seasonal one! But don’t worry you can still get destination specific baubles when you get back home!
I love these London ornaments and as we have moved away from London this year these are ones I desperately want for on my Christmas tree!
But don’t worry there are plenty of other city ornaments available as well as London!
Have a National Park Bauble
And it’s not just cities that can be represented on your Christmas tree!
Being a National Parks fanatic we love this customizable ornament.
State Geode Christmas Ornament
I knew when I saw this that my Geology loving husband would want one of these! The glittery geodes add a bit of natural sparkly to your Christmas tree!
Personalized luggage Christmas Ornament
I love that you can personalize this beautiful luggage ornament to show your travels for the year! You can make it an annual addition
Have a map in focus
I love these detail maps of your favorite area by The Blue Print
Make a Christmas Ornament out of a Map
Any traveller loves a map! And I am no different! I love these traditional paper Christmas ornaments made out of old maps! I think it’s a lovely way to update a traditional Christmas ornament.
You can buy them Here at Upcycled Boho Chic
Map Garland
And why decorate your house and tree with this beautiful take on a traditional paper chain garland! I love the combo of the stars and maps!
Or why not think about some do it yourself travel Christmas ornaments?
Why not make a paper chain out of maps and get the whole family involved? Or why not add some of your Christmas travel photos onto your tree?
How do you represent travel on your Christmas tree?
