Is Plas Newydd family friendly? 5 reasons why we think so

Determined to explore more of the UK now we are no longer expats,I decided to take a week exploring the beautiful island of Anglesey in North Wales. Armed with my new National Trust Membership, our first port of call on the island was the beautiful Plas Newydd House and Gardens. Here are 5 reasons why we think it is fantastic family day out!

Plas Newydd has some stunning grounds. My favourite was the italian terrace but my little one loved running around the grass and looking out towards the straits.

The views of the straits are spectacular from the grounds.

The adventure playground

Plas Newyyd has an amazing adventure playground which will delight any child. It is also worth finding out the treehouse in the Plas Newyyd Grounds.

The Frisbee Golf

For the more sporty visitor, why not try Plas Newyyd’s frisbee golf course

The House

The house itself is very beautiful and well worth an explore.

Lawn Games

Our little one loved playing on the lawn at Plas Newyyd.  During the summer there are a selection of lawn games out for visitors. We enjoyed partaking in a bit of croquet.

What families need to know for visiting the National Trust Plas Newydd House and Gardens

Top tips for families:

  • We found it easy to get around with the pram but the house is at the bottom of a hill!
  • There are two cafes at the property.
  • Baby changing facilities are available.

Have you been to Plas Newyyd? What is your favourite national trust property?

Loving the new logo!

I’ve not been to Anglesey but have heard great things. National Trust properties usefully offer so much for kids and the adventure playground and lawn games look very enticing! #familytraveltips

Aren't National Trust properties great? Just something like the addition of an adventure playground can make all the difference. Thanks for linking up with #CulturedKids!
