Best 5 star hotels in Muscat

The Chedi

Well if you want the ultimate in luxury then for me there is only one resort you should be looking at – The Chedi Muscat! The Chedi is where we had our awesome Middle Eastern Babymoon (FYI Oman is a great place to take a babymoon!)

The Chedi has a range of great restaurants – our favourite was the shore front seafood restaurant but perhaps it’s biggest claim to fame is it has the longest pool in the Middle East! On top of that there is also a lovely kids pool.

Other great 5* star luxury resorts in Muscat are:

Al Bustan Ritz Carlton

The Ritz is a bit further out of town, however the resort has a tranquility to it and great mountain views.

Grand Hyatt Muscat

What I like about the Grand Hyatt chain in the Middle East is that there are plenty of Arabian touches to the decor and the Grand Hyatt Muscat is no exception. Another hotel with great mountain views and unbelievable beach access!

The Middle East is a great place to go with families generally. If you want to go to Oman with kids then there are definitely some amazing places for families, but top of the list has to be

Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa

The Shangri-La in Muscat is a series of resorts within one larger resorts! If you are travelling with kids then the resort you want to check out is the Al Jissah Resort! The amenities for children at this resort are amazing and include indoor and outdoor air conditioned play areas, an adventure zone and always a favourite an enormous lazy river!

The only downside to the Shangri-La is that it is a bit further out of the capital however, the resort has anything you might need to keep the kids occupied!

Best place to Stay in Oman Outside of Muscat

As with many countries, there are so many great things to see in Oman outside of the capital city of Muscat! So if you would like to see things outside of Muscat we recommend heading to Salalah and of course the beautiful Oman Mountains.

Where to Stay in Salalah

The main attraction of Salalah is its slightly cooler weather and greener landscape but don’t worry you will still have plenty of beach time and luxury. Our number one pick for where to stay in Salalah is the beautiful Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara!

The resort is on the beach but also offers beautiful villas with private pools. On top of that the resort has the most amazing infinity pool!

Best Oman Mountain Resorts

Once you have had your fill of culture and beach time in Muscat the number one thing that should be at the top of your Muscat bucket list should be the beautiful Oman mountains. But don’t worry just because you are heading into the mountains you won’t be leaving your luxury back in the city.

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar is one of the best mountain resorts in the world! The resorts sits on the top of the Hajar mountains overlooking a canyon! There are private villas and private pools
