We booked our trip to Moab to visit Arches National Park (along with Canyonlands and Deadhorse Point State Park) with little notice so there was not much choice accommodation wise for us! However, when we arrived in Moab, I was subconsciously checking out all of the other accommodation options, so that when we return to Moab – which we will because Moab is awesome – we will know exactly the best places to stay in Moab near Arches National Park!
Top Tips for Booking the best places to stay in Moab Near Arches National Park
My number one tip for booking your accommodation near any national park, but especially near Arches National Park is to book early to get the best selection and prices. A case of do what I say rather do as I did!
Moab is not a large place, but if you have a choice for accommodation I would either stay very centrally so you can walk to all the Moab restaurants or the side of town closest to Arches National Park as you will want to get there early!
If you are traveling in summer then it is likely a pool will come in handy especially when traveling with kids. Our perfect summer day in Moab is to get up and into the park early and spend the afternoon relaxing in the pool!
The Best Places to Stay Near Arches National Park
Now, when looking for the best places to stay in Moab I would definitely look at places to stay near Arches National Park. Arches National Park is one of the busiest national parks, and if you are travelling at peak time like we did the queues can get huge to enter, and then the hikes, certainly if you aren’t venturing onto the primitive trails can get very crowded! To make the most of your visit to Arches National Park then I would definitely you get in the park for sunrise! To make your life easier I would definitely therefore recommend staying as close to the entrance as you can!
For more information on the best time to visit Arches National Park check out this post.
The closest hotels to the Arches National Park entrance with a pool (an essential if you are visiting in Summer or are visiting Arches National Park with kids) are:
- Springfield Suites
- Fairfield Inn and Suites
- Holiday Inn Express
- Aarchway Inn – has a free local shuttle into town
- Super 8 Moab – this is the most budget option we could find near Moab that still had access to a pool. However, be warned at peak season however even the budget options can get pricey especially if you aren’t booking in advance!
Best Places To Stay in Moab
Now if you would prefer something central to Moab so you can walk to the many great restaurants in downtown Moab then the below are your best options:
Best Unusual Places to Stay In Moab
For something a little bit different families might like to consider Moab Under Canvas – a beautiful way to sleep under the stars in the desert!
Under Canvas are one of my favourite brands near national parks, especially with kids! It is a great way to get kids to stay outdoors!
Other great places to stay that are further out of town that offer something a bit different are:
- Sorrel River Ranch and Spa – this place is further out of town so better for those on a longer vacay! It is a more luxury property than those in central Moab but doesn’t have the same proximity to the parks!
- Red Cliffs Lodge – this place has a winery! Need I say more! On top of that there are some great on-site activities!
Have you visited Moab? Where did you stay and did you like it?

Thanks for informative sharing. I also spent a really good time at Sorrel River Ranch and Spa during my last journey of this alluring park and came back with great experience. In my point of view it is a perfect place to have comfortable stay at Arches park.
