Family friendly Review: The Grand Hotel and Spa York

Family friendly Review: The Grand Hotel and Spa York

York is literally my favourite city in the UK and should be on everyone’s bucket list! We used to call it home and when we go back I still feel like a local only now we have to get a hotel room! Being a lover of luxury there was only one choice for our stay – the Grand Hotel and spa! But the question for us travelling with our little is was it family friendly .

Why we stayed at The Grand Hotel York

I’m a bit of a railway geek and I love staying in train themed or connected hotels.

For more UK train themed hotels check out this post

The grand hotel is in the ex offices of the Great northern railway company but is filled with luxurious touches that makes it a perfect choice for luxury train enthusiasts!

The suites at the Grand Hotel and Spa

As any luxury family traveller will tell you one of the keys for having a relaxing night is having a separate living and sleeping space. There is nothing worse than having to spend your evening in a dark hotel room not talking for fear of waking your sleeping tot.

Check out on our post on how to pick a family friendly hotel

There aren’t many options in York for families wanting luxurious suites so we knew we were had to stay at the Grand.

The hotel is filled with luxurious touches and the decor is cohesive throughout the suite!

The separate spaces are both well appointed and decorated beautiful.

The Amenities at The Grand Hotel York

I love that the amenities at the Grand Hotel are Yorkshire themed with Taylors of  Harrogates tea and rhubarb biscuits.

The hotel also has amazing amenities such as Molten Brown toiletries and isn’t lacking in its in rooms facilities!

The hotel also has a highly rated bar and restaurant however travelling with to york with a toddler meant we didn’t get to check this out!

Overall opinion

For families looking for a touch of luxury on a city break to York the Grand is really the only option!
