I must admit, I had never heard of the holiday property bonds before my in-laws joined up. But when we were looking for a last minute UK holiday destination in the middle of the summer holidays, it seemed like a good time to give it a try. While, HPB has properties around the UK and internationally, the only one available at our notice was Henllys Anglesey just outside of Beaumaris. So without any research to the area we booked banking on the quality of the accommodation. 

Facilities at HPB Henllys Anglesey

The facilities at HPB Henlyss Anglesey are second to none. There is a small fitness room, library, children’s play room, tennis court and most importantly to families a swimming pool. The pool, while not gigantic, is more than adequate for the size of the facility. We never had any issues with overcrowding when we were there.

There was also a great bowling green which kept my little one amused for hours from the window of our apartment.

But perhaps my little lady’s favourite facility was the giant chess set. I have never seen a chess set with such amazing views. All of the grounds at HPB Henllys had amazing views and are one of the most compelling reasons to visit.

The Accommodation at HPB Henllys Anglesey

We stayed in a two bedroom first floor apartment. It was a nicely appointed and decorated room. When we were there, our kitchen was measured for a refit which while there was no problems with the kitchen, it could do with an addition of a dishwater. I was told that this was been adding during the refit.

What to do near Henllys Anglesey

I was really surprised by how much there is to do at Henllys Anglesey. Beaumaris is a short drive away and there is a lovely English Heritage Castle that is well worth a visit. Beaumaris is also the perfect jumping off point to go and see puffins on puffin island. For the foodies amongst you, then look no further than the Marram Grass Cafe owned by Great British Menu contestant Ellis Barrie! The nearby Plas Newyyd owned by the National Trust is another great day out. Anglesey is also home to many amazingly beautiful beaches which are great for the family.

For those wanting to venture off the island, Portmeirion, Llandudno and Conwy are all nearby.

Also for the adventure lovers it is easier to d go hiking on Mount Snowdon! But don’t worry if you don’t like hiking there’s plenty to do in snowdonia National Park besides walking!

Overall Opinion of HPB Henllys Anglesey

The grounds of Henllys are spectacular as are the views and facilities. I would definitely love to return especially given all of the amazing tourist spots nearby. If I were to return, I would try and book a ground floor apartment to make use of the outside area and views on a nice evening. Anglesey – we will be back!
