Grand Hyatt Beijing Luxury Resort – the Answer to the Question of Where to Stay in Beijing!

Grand Hyatt Beijing Luxury Resort – the Answer to the Question of Where to Stay in Beijing!

There is nothing I love more after a long day exploring a city than the comfort of a luxury hotel. I have never felt the need to have a luxury hotel more than during our stay in Beijing. While we were there we had busy days hiking the Great Wall of China and had to contend with Beijing pollution but because we had the Grand Hyatt Beijing luxury resort to return to we had an absolutely fantastic time in the city. If you are considering a visit to Beijing, then the Grand Hyatt Beijing luxury resort is really the only place you should consider staying and here’s why:

The staff at Grand Hyatt Beijing

From the moment we checked into the Grand Hyatt Beijing until the moment we checked out the staff were outstanding. From dealing with our request for early check in after a long overnight flight and accommodating our late check out there was nothing that was too much trouble. The staff were particularly brilliant with Baby Wandermust making a fuss of her and providing her with a delightful stuffed toy rooster as it was the Year of the Rooster. Literally everybody we came into contact with at the Grand Hyatt Beijing went out of their way to ensure we were having an outstanding stay. Commendation must go to general manager Gerald who really runs a tight ship and ensures every guest has a grand stay.

The rooms at Grand Hyatt Beijing

One of the reasons we chose to stay at the Grand Hyatt Beijing was because of the generous sized room. We were upgraded to a suite with a spectacular view of the fountains below. The double aspect windows meant the room was bright and airy and there was plenty of space for Baby Wandermust to run around.

The main benefit of this suite though was having a separate living to bedroom area. As any family traveller will tell you having this separate space is an essential when traveling in hotels with little ones, and the Grand Hyatt Beijing got the suite perfectly apportioned.

The bathroom was also particularly suited to traveling families with large shower and a bath that was similar to die for.

Since having our little one, one of the most important things in looking for a hotel is having great amenities such as a pool. We love letting our little one blow off steam in a pool after a long day of sightseeing however not all city hotel pools are created equal. One member of the Grand Hyatt Beijing staff told us they thought the pool was the best in China, and I think this would be difficult to dispute. In fact I would go as far as to say it is one oof the finest city hotel swimming pools I have ever seen. One of the issues I find with many city hotel pools is they can feel more corporate or business traveller focussed, which isn’t what you want when traveling with littles. The pool at the Grand Hyatt Beijing however has a more resort feel, complete with bird and frog song, tropical vegetation, grottos and waterfalls. How many city hotels can you honestly call a luxury resort? Not many but to me the Grand Hyatt Beijing is a luxury resort with central city location. It is the perfect place for families to unwind in the city whether the  weather is bad, you are jet lagged or have children to keep entertained the pool at the Grand Hyatt Beijing provides the  perfect solution.

Why the Grand Hyatt Beijing is where to stay in Beijing!

But perhaps the number one reason we booked in at the Grand Hyatt Beijing was because of its’ location. Not only is the Grand Hyatt Beijing walking distance from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, but it is also adjacent to The Malls at Oriental Plaza. This proved a godsend for us during the worst of Beijing pollution. The mall is full of a variety of high end shops but also a variety of both Western and Eastern eateries.

It is also easy to get the Great Wall of China with a private tour company from the Grand Hyatt Beijing!

So if you want to know where to stay in Beijing and for a Beijing Hotels Near Forbidden City then the Grand Hyatt luxury resort is the answer!

The restaurants at Grand Hyatt Beijing

If you want to eat in the hotel, the restaurant has a great variety of restaurants. The buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day and included Western and Eastern delights as well as live cooking stations. The perfect place to start the day!

However the best restaurant has to be the fabulous Made in China which is home, in my opinion, to the best Peking duck in Beijing. It is a must for anyone staying in the hotel and those who aren’t. (Check back soon for a full review of Made in China).

In conclusion – Grand Hyatt Beijing Luxury Resort

Beijing was a city that I really loved but don’t really think I have scratched the surface of it. Having travelled to China, there are now more Chinese sites on our bucket list! When I return to Beijing – which I will –  I won’t be asking the question Where to Stay in Beijing as I already know the answer. There is only one place I will be staying, The Grand Hyatt Beijing

What a beautiful hotel and strategically located to boot. We haven't yet visited Beijing but will certainly consider this when we do. And we will take you up on your recommendation for Peking duck!

The place looks amazing! The room is so lovely and the pool - OMG! I am not sure if I would actually go out and explore Beijing if I'd stay there...Although I would probably still enjoy it after an exhausting day exploring.

That pool looks amazing and so do the rooms! I totally agree - when you come back to your hotel room after a long day in a foreign city there is nothing better than having a place where you can comfortably relax and with great amenities. Thanks for linking up with #farawayfiles
