Historically there were no rules regarding the size of stroller that you could take into Disney however in 2019 Disney instigated a new stroller policy which limited the size of stroller you could take into the parks.
Now the strollers you take into the park can be:
- no larger than 31 inches 0r 79 cms in width
- no larger than 52 inches or 132 cm in length
Also at the time that the stroller rules changed Disney also Brought in a no stroller wagon policy which hit those with larger families most. Therefore it is really important when picking a double stroller you stay within all of the above rules as you can be denied entry if your stroller doesn’t meet the requirements.
Where can I use a Double Stroller at Disney?
If you plan to use a double stroller at Disneyland or Disney World then it is important to know when and where you can’t use a stroller and where you may need to fold it up. The places where you will need to either fold up or park your stroller are:
- Rides: strollers, single or double are not allowed in any of the ride queues at Disneyland or Disney World.
- Restaurants: many of the restaurants but especially those character dining, speciality restaurants and even some of the quick service restaurants will ask you to leave your stroller in designated stroller parking and not brought inside.
- Transport such as trams in the park and parking lot trams or on the Disney buses
- Escalators

We are very lucky to have traveled to many places around the world with our toddler and baby and what we have found, is that despite what some people say there is no one travel stroller that works perfectly in location around the world.
For instance if you are looking for the best stroller for cruise ship travel you want something that is lightweight and collapsible into a very small space. While for ancient cities in Europe such as a stroller for Italy or even using a stroller in Japan’s ancient city you will want something that has big wheels and that is robust enough to manage cobbles.
But what about Disney – what should you be looking at in the best double stroller for Disney.
Easy to Fold
One of the key things for a stroller in Disney is to make sure it is easy to fold down especially if you plan to use Disney transportation such as the buses. Children cannot remain in the stroller on a bus and you will need to fold it down.
Be sure to pick one that is easy to collapse and practice doing it in a low stress environment.

It also has a large canopy which is great for sun protection and is easy to recline.
It is worth noting that while there are 5 different layers of recline but this stroller doesn’t lie completely flat and isn’t the best stroller on the list for napping if that is your priority.

Joovy is one of the go to brands for double strollers on the market that are compatible with Disney regulations.
Unlike the other double strollers on this list the seat configuration is one in front of the other rather than side by side seat arrangement. The front seat is for the younger children – from six months to 2.5 years while the rear bench seat and standing platform goes from 2.5years until the child meets the weigh of 45 pounds.
I will admit this isn’t my favorite stroller on the list as my little ones don’t like being in the behind seat however if your child doesn’t mind this it may be a perfect choice for you.
But what I do like about this is that children can stand on the back platform which my kids love.

Can you rent a double stroller at Disney
You can indeed rent a double stroller from Disney (world and land). In Florida you can rent a double stroller from Disney springs or from the parks themselves. However the only downside to this is that they can not be taken outside of the parks which is not helpful if you want to use a stroller to get across the parking lot at Magic Kingdom for instance.
There are also several companies that will rent double strollers which will delivery to your resort or hotel room. These can be used outside of the parks which make them a more flexible option.
