If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland Paris but don’t necessarily want to stay fully immersed in the Disney bubble, the Relais Spa Val d’Europe is a hotel well worth considering. Located just one stop from Disneyland Paris on the RER, this modern spa hotel offers a quieter, more grown-up atmosphere while still being extremely convenient for park days.
But what about for families? Choosing where to stay around Disneyland Paris can be a balancing act for families between budget, space, transport, and facilities. So how does Relais Spa measure up when travelling with children and would we stay again?
Location & Transport

Relais Spa Val D’europe review
One of the biggest selling points of the Relais Spa Val d’Europe is its location. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Val d’Europe shopping mall and the Val d’Europe RER station. This makes getting to Disneyland Paris quick, simple, and stress-free—ideal for early starts or tired returns after fireworks. The supermarkets in this area are also very useful for those packing a day bag for DLP or trying to keep their costs down by taking snacks and drinks into the park.

Val D Europe area
The RER takes just a few minutes to reach Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy (Disneyland Paris), making this an excellent option for guests who want off-site prices without long travel times.

Relais Spa Val D’Europe Shuttle Bus
The hotel also offers a shuttle service to Disneyland Paris, which is a useful alternative for families with younger children or those who prefer door-to-door transport. While shuttle times are more limited than Disney hotels, it’s a nice extra option to have—especially after a long park day when little legs are tired.
Rooms & Facilities: Space and Flexibility for Families

Room at Relais Spa Val D Europe
Rooms at Relais Spa are spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean, offering far more room than many Disney-area hotels. For families, this extra space makes a real difference, especially when travelling with pushchairs, luggage, or children who need downtime.
One of the standout features is the kitchenette, which includes a fridge, microwave, hob, and basic utensils. This is a huge plus for:
-
Families with fussy eaters
-
Guests managing allergies or dietary requirements
-
Anyone looking to keep food costs down during their Disney trip
Being able to prepare breakfast, snacks, or simple meals takes a lot of pressure off park days and adds flexibility that many Disney hotels don’t offer.
The hotel also has a spa and indoor swimming pool, giving it a more relaxed, adult-leaning feel. After busy days in the parks, it’s a lovely place to unwind—but this is where families may hit a limitation.
Swimming Pool: Lovely, But With Restrictions
While the pool itself is very nice, there are restricted family swimming hours, which may not suit all Disneyland Paris itineraries. Families who plan to spend most of the day in the parks and use the pool in the evening may find this frustrating.
For us, these hours worked well because we stayed the night before transferring to a Disney on-site hotel. The pool was a great way to relax before the main Disney portion of our trip. However, for a longer stay, we would have found the limited access disappointing—particularly if pool time is important to your children.
Value for Money
Relais Spa Val d’Europe is generally more expensive than some other off-site hotels in the area. While the space, cleanliness, and kitchenette help justify the price, families staying for longer periods may find better value elsewhere especially if child-focused facilities like unrestricted pool access are a priority.
Final Thoughts: Is Relais Spa Right for Your Disney Trip?
Relais Spa Val d’Europe is a stylish, comfortable hotel that’s best suited to:
-
Adults or couples wanting a break from the Disney bubble
-
Families prioritising space and self-catering
-
Short stays or pre-Disney nights before moving on-site
-
Guests who want excellent transport links without staying in a Disney hotel
However, for families planning a longer Disneyland Paris stay where pool access and child-friendly amenities are essential, this may not be the best fit. The restricted pool hours and higher price point could make other nearby hotels more appealing.
Overall, Relais Spa Val d’Europe is a lovely, well-located hotel that offers comfort, convenience, and flexibility—just be sure it aligns with what matters most for your Disneyland Paris holiday.
