Overview of Sequoia Lodge at Disneyland Paris

Sequoia Lodge Review

Sequoia Lodge is a mid-range on-site hotel at Disneyland Paris, perfect for guests who want something more comfortable than Santa Fe or Cheyenne but don’t need the full luxury (and price tag) of the Disneyland Hotel or Hotel New York – Art of Marvel.

Unlike some of the on-site hotels, the Disney theme is slightly less overt. The theme here is based on the US national parks such as Yosemite and Yellowstone, and isn’t as in your face Disney as say Cheyenne with it’s toy story theme however there are subtle nods to Bambi all over the hotel.

Generally speaking I think this hotel is great for those who don’t want to stay in the most basic hotels, but who aren’t worried about luxury.

Sequoia Lodge Review

The theme at Sequoia Lodge is more subtle than say the Hotel Cheyenne with its Wild West /  Toy Story or the Art of Marvel with its’ superheroes. Sequoia Lodge takes its inspiration from the national parks of the US but has some Bambi touches in the rooms themselves.

Transport at Sequoia Lodge

Although packages booked through Disneyland Paris do not come with hotel transfers, there is a free shuttle bus between the hotel and the main park entrance.

However, I will say that these get very busy, especially at peak times. For this reason, we tried to avoid using the free shuttle and just walked to the parks instead.

Sequoia is actually only around a 10-15 minute walk fro the park entrance. It is a relatively flat walk through the Disney Village and we managed to do it with a stroller easily.  If you can we really recommend walking instead of taking the shuttle bus to the park as it is a much more pleasant and less stressful experience.

Rooms at Sequoia Lodge

Sequoia Lodge Rooms

There are three main room categories:

  • Standard Rooms – 2 double beds, sleeps up to 4. Simple, comfortable, ideal if you just need a base for sleeping.

  • Golden Forest Club Rooms – Includes breakfast, a private lounge with free soft drinks, afternoon snacks (4–6 PM), and a dedicated reception for faster check-in.

  • Suites – Larger rooms with additional perks and more space.

We usually choose a Standard Room because we spend most of our time in the parks, but Golden Forest is worth it if you want an upgraded experience.

Amenities at Sequoia Lodge

Even though you’ll likely spend most of your time in the parks, Sequoia Lodge has great facilities:

  • Northwest Passage Store – Snacks, drinks, and souvenirs.

  • Little Prairie Kids’ Corner – Small indoor play area for children.

  • Swimming Pool & Hot Tub – One of the cheapest on-site hotels with pool access.

  • Fitness Centre – Open to all guests.

  • Two Buffet Restaurants – Hunter’s Grill & Beaver Creek Tavern.

  • Redwood Bar & Lounge – A cozy spot for an evening drink by the fireplace.

Restaurant at Sequoia

If you are staying at Sequoia with a meal plan or just want to eat in your hotel then you have a couple of options for dining on site.

If you have a bed and breakfast plan, you can eat your breakfast at the on-site restaurant and there is no need to prebook. The breakfast has lots of continental breakfast options, yogurt and cereals on offer.

The on-site restaurants at Sequoia are called the Hunters Grill and Beaver Creek Tavern which are buffet restaurants and have lots of options even if you have a fussy eater in your group.

What are the meet and greets at Sequoia?

Sequoia Lodge Meet and Greets

One of the best perks about staying at a Disneyland Paris hotel is the fact that you get one meet and greet with characters in the hotel lobby each day. And the meet and greets at Sequoia Lodge are some of my favorites due to the character’s unique hotel clothes which are based on national park rangers.

When we were at Sequoia most recently we met:

  • Donald Duck,
  • Goofy and
  • Max.

Please note: hotel meet and greets are either morning or evening so be sure to check at check in for the current schedule.

Things to do

On top of the meet and greets there are also other great activities at Sequoia. The pool at Sequoia is great especially if you are traveling during the summer when the parks are hot.

Also if you are traveling with young children or toddlers there is also a small children’s activity area called Little Prairie Kids Corner. This has lots of colouring to keep the kids amused while you are grabbing a drink.

Is Sequoia Lodge worth it?

In my opinion, Sequoia Lodge is a great hotel to stay at. We always recommend staying on-site wherever possible due to the Early Magic Hours which helps cut down on your queue time. Sequoia is a great choice for those not on a tight budget but who don’t mind the walk to the parks. Also it is great for those who want some down time and want to have the option of a pool.

The only drawback to this hotel is it is slightly less overt in terms of its Disney theme than others however the meet and greets and the costumes more than make up for this in my opinion.
