Disneyland Paris in December Weather?
When thinking about if December is a good time to visit Disneyland Paris one big consideration has to be what the December winter weather at Disneyland Paris is like. Now I am not going to lie, Disneyland Paris in December weather tends to be cold – very cold but is very much like the weather we get in the UK in December. The daytime high tends to be around 8 degrees and lows tend to be 4 but so long as you pack plenty of layers, hats, scarfs and gloves etc then you should be fine.
What to pack for Disneyland Paris in December?

Christmas Jumpers
I always recommend taking Disney themed clothes so if you can manage to find a Disney Christmas jumper this is the first thing you should be packing.
Hat, scarf and Gloves
The weather can get very chilly at Disneyland Paris, and if you are waiting for parades or fireworks then you can get cold quickly so a hat, scarf and gloves are an essential.
Thermals
For the same reason, some thermal leggings or a top might be a good idea especially for your little ones
Warm, waterproof shoes
Comfortable shoes are an essential for any Disney park but if you are visiting the park in December then be sure you pack warm and waterproof ones.

See the Parade
One of my favourite things about visiting Disneyland Paris with toddlers, children or even just as an adult is watching the parade. On top of the regular parade in normal years there is also a Christmas parade which features characters in their Christmas clothing, snow on main street and a visit from Santa himself.

Meet the Characters in their Christmas clothes
Meeting the characters has to be at the top of any Disneyland Paris bucket list and this is especially true when visiting Disneyland Paris at Christmas because many of the characters will be in their festive attire.

Meet Santa
Usually there is a Santa Meet and Greet at Disneyland Paris and has to be one of the best places for your little ones to meet Santa.
Disneyland Paris have not yet confirmed how Santa will be featured this year but we will update as get more information for Disneyland Paris December 2022.
Try the holiday food
One of the things I love about visiting Disneyland Paris for special seasons like Christmas or Halloween is the special themed food they have. Usually there are Christmas shaped cookies and donuts, festive drinks and more.
Watch Mickey’s Big Band Show
Mickey’s Big Band Show was a highlight of our December visit to Disneyland Paris. The show is held at the Animagique Theater and features music and dance as well as featuring the classic disney characters.
See Surprise Mickey
Surprise Mickey is an outdoor show in the Walt Disney Studio Park. It is a great chance to see the main characters with a festive twist.
Enjoy the Christmas Market in the Village
While the Disney village is a great spot to grab some food and do some shopping whatever time of year you visit Disneyland Paris, it is especially good at Christmas as there is a small Christmas market where you can pick up festive fare and gifts.
Watch the Let’s Sing Christmas Show
Held at Videopolis in the Disneyland Park Tomorrowland area, this show is on every weekend featuring different visiting choirs as well as performances by Mickey, Minnie and Friends. It is also a great way to get the kids to stop for food while still being entertained and not losing any precious time in the park.
Buy Disneyland Paris Christmas Ornaments
Whenever we travel we buy a Christmas ornament as we love having a travel themed Christmas tree and Disney is a great place to pick up a Christmas Ornament or Souvenir.
Best places to stay at Disneyland Paris in December?
No matter what time of year you visit Disneyland Paris, I always recommend staying on site if you can but I think this is even more important at Christmas because
- Disneyland Paris in December is very busy – especially towards the end of the month and over the Christmas period itself. By staying on site you will get to make use of Extra Magic Hours which gets you into the park early and means you can beat the queues and get on rides that you know have long queues or do some early morning character meet and greets.
- The hotels are decorated for Christmas which adds to the magic of your stay.
Now you know why you should stay on site in Disneyland Paris in December – which of the hotels is best?
Well in my opinion all of the hotels are fabulous and so it really depends on your budget (if you are visiting Disneyland Paris on a budget do check out our handy tips here). The Disneyland Paris Hotel has to be highlight and is the most highly decorated of all the on site hotels at Disneyland Paris. However all of the hotels on site will have decorations to some degree or another. When we last visited in December we stayed at Hotel Cheyenne which still had some nice decorations.

When we have visited Disneyland Paris in December we have found most of the attractions to be open. Whenever you go to Disneyland Paris there are bound to be some ride closures due to technical faults or renovations however we didn’t notice anymore closures in December than we did when we visited Disneyland Paris in August.
