What date is Halloween at Disneyland Paris 2022?

If you want to see Disneyland Paris decorated for Halloween then you need to know when the decorations go up and down.
Halloween at Disneyland Paris is known as the Disney Halloween Festival and it runs from 1st October – 6th November 2022.

When are the Disneyland Paris Halloween Parties?
On top of the regular Halloween Season Disneyland Paris has its own Halloween Parties like the Oogie Boogie Bash at California Adventure in California and the Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. The main difference is that the Paris party doesn’t have a cool name like their American counterparts.
For 2022 Disneyland Paris Halloween Parties are taking place on:
- 29th October and
- 31st October 2022.

Although not the busiest time of year in the park Halloween is indeed one of the busier times of year and you are likely to find the parks crowded at Disneyland Paris.
However the crowd levels during the Halloween season do differ dramatically depending on which month, what day of the week and whether you are visiting during a weekend or school holiday.
If you visit Disneyland Paris in September the crowds are likely to be much lower than at Disneyland Paris in October especially if you are visiting Disneyland Paris during the October half term holiday. When happens at Disneyland Paris Halloween Parties?
The Disneyland Paris Halloween Parties are an extra ticketed event besides your normal park admission ticket.
The Parties take place at Disneyland Paris park rather than the Walt Studios Park. And at the parties you will get:
- access to the parks until 2am
- meet and greets with Disney villains
- ride select rides after dark
- Villains show/ parade depending on the year
What is Disneyland Paris like at Halloween?
Disneyland Paris at Halloween is a special time of year to visit the parks. The reason for this is because it is a special season such like Christmas at Disneyland Paris.
Visiting during Halloween Season means at the park you will get:
- meet and greets with classic characters in special Halloween outfits (click here for information on the best questions to ask Disney characters).
- meet and greets with Disney Villains such as Cruella De Vil, Captain Hook, Maleficent and the Evil Queen to name just a few.
- Halloween Calvacades
- Halloween Parades
- Halloween Parties (at an additional cost to regular admission).

What to wear to Disneyland Paris for Halloween
Halloween at Disneyland Paris can be quite cold as it is end at the end of October. Although the average temperature in the day is around 12C, the temperatures have been known to go as low as 9C during the day and when you are standing around waiting for parades, shows and meet and greets especially at night it can feel very chilly.
And if you are at the Halloween party and plan to stay until the end at 2am then it can get very chilly so you will want lots of layers.
If you are visiting Disneyland Paris with toddlers or young children then I also advise packing costumes from home. Although you can purchase costumes in the park or as part of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Bo Packages, you will be paying a premium for these. It is definitely more cost effective to bring these from home. Also as the Disney villains are out in force it can be nice for them to dress up as a villain.
Now as an adult you may be wondering if you can wear costumes to Disneyland Paris. And the truth is that only children under the age of 12 can wear costumes to Disneyland Paris. Costumes for adults are not the Disneyland Paris banned list.
The closest adults can normally get to dressing like characters is Disneybounding. You could also add a Disney Halloween themed shirt or sweater to your packing list to give your outfit a seasonal lift.
However there is one notable exceptions to the no adult costume Disney dress code and that is at one of the Disneyland Paris Halloween parties.
During the Halloween Parties there is a costume exemption and adults can wear costumes providing:
- your costume doesn’t trail on the ground i.e. no floor length princess dresses or capes that touch the floor.
- no masks
- no weapons
However if you do wear a costume you are not allowed to pose as a cast member or sign autographs or pose for photographs.
If you do decide to wear a costume we would also advise that you wear very comfortable and potentially waterproof shoes as even at the Disney Halloween parties you will do a lot of walking.

Best things to do at Disneyland Paris during Halloween?

Meet the villains
I love meeting Disney characters when we are in the parks and some of the best character interactions we have ever had are with the villains.
The villains are out in force during the Halloween season and during the Halloween parties and they make for some great meet and greets.

Meet Jack Skellington
On top of the villains the other unusual meet and greets you get at Disneyland Paris during the Halloween season is Jack Skellington. But be warned the queues to meet him do get long.
Watch the parade and calvacades
The parades should be top of any Disneyland Paris bucket list. But at Halloween you get the special Mickey’s Halloween Celebration Calvacade.
These are a must visit if you are visiting Disneyland Paris for the Halloween celebrations.
Attend the halloween party
On top of the regular admission, there is the extra ticketed Halloween Party. If you love Halloween and want to stay in the parks late for the special entertainment this is your chance.
See the Halloween decorations
The Halloween decorations at Disneyland Paris are spectacular. Usually they feature a combination of:
- Mickey Mouse Pumpkins
- Garlands
- Lanterns
- Ghouls, Ghosts and Skeletons.

Meet classic characters in Halloween costumes

On top of the villains you can also meet some of the Classic Disney characters in their Halloween costumes.
We love getting photos with characters in as many of their different costumes as possible and Halloween is a great time to do this.
Eat Halloween themed food
As with any special events at Disneyland Paris there are loads of themed food options. If you want some spooky or villainous food then Halloween is a great time to visit the park.
