Is Disneyland Paris open in April?
Are Disneyland Paris rides open in April?
Is Disneyland Paris crowded in April?
In answer to whether or not Disneyland Paris is crowded in April I would say depends on the year you are visiting but the crowds are certainly starting to increase from the Winter months.
If Easter falls over April then you will likely experience very high crowds as the crowds do tend to surge over Easter break which is celebrated both in the UK and Europe.
As with anytime of year you are visiting you will find that weekdays are quieter than weekends so you may want to take that into consideration. Be sure to check out this guide of best day to visit Disneyland Paris.
If you don’t have children who are tied to the school holidays and are visiting Disneyland Paris with toddlers or even visiting Disneyland Paris as adults then you should definitely consider traveling outside of the school holidays to avoid the crowds. What to Wear to Disneyland Paris in April
Although Disneyland Paris has relatively moderate conditions in April it is still worth taking plenty of layers with you especially if you are planning to stay to watch the fireworks and illuminations.
For this time of year some of the things we recommend adding to your Disneyland Paris Packing list are:
- Jeans and T Shirts
- Hoodies and Sweaters
- Some Waterproof clothing
- Trainers, preferably waterproof ones, crocs
If you have children then the above also applies. However if they want to wear costumes as my little one always does I recommend taking some layers that match their dresses or costumes and just removing these when taking photos indoors.

Is it worth going to Disneyland Paris in April?
Overall I think it really is a worth going to Disneyland Paris in April because of the relatively pleasant temperatures. However I will admit that I prefer going in April outside of the school holidays in France and the UK if you can so you won’t get as many crowds.
Another benefit of traveling to Disneyland Paris in April is that Daylights Savings time has passed which mean you get longer daylight hours in the park which usually leads to longer park opening times. The reason for this is that you need it to be dark for the fireworks and illuminations so the park will stay open longer to enable this.
Usually the park is open from 9:30 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and then slightly longer from 9:30 AM to 10PM on weekends. However it is worth checking the official Disneyland Paris website for the opening hours as these are subject to change.
We also recommend staying onsite in April, especially in the school holidays as staying at an on site Disneyland Paris Hotel will give you early magic hours. This is an extra hour in the park before the general public arrives and is much quieter meaning you are able to get a lot of rides covered quickly.
Please note these timings are just for guidance and are subject to change and haven’t been released for 2023 yet so be sure to keep checking back.
Visiting Disneyland Paris in April Tips
Best places to stay at Disneyland Paris in April?
If you can stretch your Disneyland Paris budget to it we always recommend staying at an onsite Disneyland Paris Hotel. The on-site Disneyland Paris hotels include:
- the Disneyland Hotel
- Disney New York Hotel – Art of Marvel
- Sequoia Lodge
- Hotel Cheyenne
- Newport Bay Club
- Santa Fe
For a full comparison of Hotel Cheyenne vs Sequoia Lodge check out this post.
And there are lots of good reasons for staying at one of these as opposed to an off site hotel. The reasons are:
- Distance to the park – all of these hotels are walkable to the parks
- Swimming pools – some of the more luxury of these hotels have pools to enjoy and relax in
- Character Meet and Greets – usually in the morning and evening at on site hotels you will get one character in the foyer that you can meet and the lines will be less than those in the park.
- Early Magic Hours – you get in the parks earlier than general public which optimises your time in the park and has shorter queue times.

Best things to do at Disneyland Paris in April
Watch Mickey and the magician
For me one of the best things to do at Disneyland Paris is watch the Mickey and the Magician Show at the Walt Disney Studios. This is a completely unique show to Disneyland Paris and is a huge fave in our household. This show isn’t all year but usually runs February – September.
Watch the illuminations and fireworks
April is a great month to visit because you get a longer day due to the longer day light hours in April but you can still see the fireworks and illumination that a time that is suitable for young children.
When we visit Disneyland Paris in August by little ones struggle to stay up late enough for the fireworks, it is light late in Europe. However April is very doable for them.
