Is Disneyland Paris open in March?

Visiting Disneyland Paris in March Tips

Visiting Disneyland Paris in March Tips

Yes Disneyland Paris is open in March as actually Disneyland Paris is open every day of the year including Christmas Day!

So now you know that Disneyland Paris is open in March the next questions to ask is about the attractions at Disneyland Paris at this time of year.

Are Disneyland Paris rides open in March?

The good news is that yes the Disneyland Paris rides are indeed open in March. The only exceptions to this are rides that have scheduled closures for maintenance which you can read about more here or on the Disneyland Paris website. Also, some rides may go down during extreme weather or heavy rain but this shouldn’t be for the whole of your trip.

Usually I would not expect rain heavy enough to close rides in March however it is not impossible.

Note: If you are due to get very heavy rain or storms during your trip you may want to check out our dedicated visiting Disneyland Paris in the rain tips post.

Is Disneyland Paris crowded in March?

In answer to whether or not Disneyland Paris is crowded in March I would say depends on the year you are visiting. If Easter falls over March then you will likely experience very high crowds. However if Easter in the year you are visiting falls in April, you won’t see crowds as high.

However if your visit coincides with any school holidays you can expect the crowds to swell and the weekends will be busier than week days. You can read more about the best days to visit Disneyland Paris here.

If you don’t have school aged children and are visiting Disneyland Paris with toddlers or adults alone then you should definitely consider traveling outside of the school holidays to avoid the crowds. For more information on the best time to visit Disneyland Paris check out this post.

Disneyland Paris Crowd Calendar March 2023

For March 2023 there are no public holidays in France and Easter actually falls in April that year. So you can expect the crowds to be lighter than in years when Easter is in March. However usually March gets busier towards the end of the month as Easter approaches.

However if you are planning to visit Disneyland Paris in March 2024 then please note the following public holidays:

29th March – Good Friday

31st March – Easter Sunday

Much like in the UK, snow is actually quite a rare thing in Paris whatever time of year you are visiting. And I would not normally expect you to see snow at Disneyland Paris in March.

Is it worth going to Disneyland Paris in March?

Generally speaking if you want to go to Disneyland Paris at a time that is both cheap and less crowded then March may be the perfect month for you to visit – unless you visit during the Easter vacations (this is important especially for 2024).

The usual opening hours in March at Disneyland Paris are:

Weekdays Disneyland Park 10.00 till 19.00, Walt Disney Studios Park 10.00 till 18.00

Weekend Disneyland Park 10.00 till 22.00, Walt Disney Studios Park 10.00 till 20.00

With Early Magic Hours being around 8:30 – 9:30.This means you get a relatively long day in the parks and as daylight savings time is in March you will get longer light at the end of the month.

Please note these timings are just for guidance and are subject to change and haven’t been released for 2023 yet so be sure to keep checking back.

Best places to stay at Disneyland Paris in March?

Iron Man Statue - On-SIte Vs Off Site Hotels at Disneyland Paris

On-SIte Vs Off Site Hotels at Disneyland Paris

I always recommend picking an on-site Disneyland Paris Hotel over an off-site hotel whatever time of year you visit.  This is because

  • these hotels are walking distance to the parks which is far more convenient.
  • you get early magic hours which optimises your time in the park and has shorter queue times.
  • many have swimming pools which is nice if you want to get some relaxation time after the parks

How many days at Disneyland Paris do you need?

One of my favourite things about March in the parks is that there are smaller crowds and therefore shorter queue times. Getting on lots of rides is near the top of every Disneyland Paris bucket list and March is a great time to do this.

Do Character Dining

Auberge de Cendrillon Disneyland Paris

Auberge de Cendrillon Disneyland Paris

Character dining is always top of our list of things to do at Disneyland Paris but it can be hard to get reservations especially at peak times but March tends to be easier than its surrounding months. Our favorite is Auberge de Cendrillon which you can read about here.

If you are lucky enough to get a reservation we recommend dressing your little ones up in costumes to ensure great interactions with character.

And if you are vegan at Disneyland Paris then check out this guide.

Also to further enhance your character interactions while doing character dining be sure to check out our best questions to ask Disney characters and best questions to ask Disney princesses posts.

Meet characters

Characters are a key part of any Disney experience. As these are very popular the queues get very long. However as March is one of the quieter times in the park this is a great time to meet characters.

If you want to collect autographs while doing meet and greets be sure to check out our post on the best alternatives to autograph books for Disneyland Paris.

Watch the Parade

We love the Disney Parades. Be sure to catch this during your March vacation at Disneyland Paris as you won’t have to queue as long to get a good spot compared to February and April.

See the Fireworks

This is a must while at Disneyland however please note that this display will get later once Daylight Savings Time has happened.

Watch Mickey and the Magician

Mickey and the Magician is one of my favourite unique things to do in Disneyland Paris. If it is on during your trip you definitely shouldn’t miss this out of your Disneyland Paris itinerary.

What to Wear to Disneyland Paris in March

The key to what to wear to Disneyland Paris in March is layers.  It can be cold at Disneyland Paris in March so layers will help your enjoy your day more even if you experience bad weather during your trip.

We recommend wearing things like jeans, long sleeve t shirts coupled with hoodies and sweaters as well as coats. This way you have lots of layers to protect you from the cold but you can easily remove a layer if you get too warm indoors.
